Akshay Kumar cheated?
We all have seen actors take out a chit or two from their pockets to deliver their famous speeches of gratitude after their names have been announced as winners at respective award shows. But have we ever heard of any actor demanding a tele-prompter to carry his award speech? When Akshay Kumar delivered his long and impressive speech at the Screen Awards after winning the award of ‘Most Popular Actor’ for his performance in ‘Singh is Kinng’, little did the audience realise that Akshay was actually reading it out from a rolling screen in front of his eyes! The strange gesture of the actor had most of the film industry members wonder if Akshay had run out of spontaneity while others raised an eyebrow in question about the actor being prepared in advance with his award speech submitted to the tele-prompting unit much before the show had started!
Having won an award after a real long time, Akshay’s emotional saga of thanksgiving on stage had John Abraham playfully comment, “Akshay, that was a lifetime achievement speech. However, after the show was over, Twinkle Khanna did receive a call from a much- honoured Aamir Khan, who had called in to express his gratitude to Akshay for including his name as the true recipient of the award in an honest and humble speech!
